I have head of Kombucha for a while now, but never got the urge to try it until this past weekend. I could not even wait to get home to try it, so I opened it right there in the middle of the grocery store. I really enjoyed it. Regardless of the possible health benefits I love the fizzy, vinegary, apple cidery taste. I can see how some people may dislike it, but I think that could turn into a love hate relationship.
Kombucha tea is a fermented drink made with tea, sugar, bacteria and yeast.
i do not think there is any scientific evidence to support exactly what Kombucha does... but is said to promote and aid in:
detox - Kombucha contains many enzymes that your body uses to detox the body, so your liver will not have to work so hard.
digestion - Kombucha is a naturally fermented probiotic beverage. It has a living colony of bacteria and yeast! (look in the bottle you will see some things floating around.. I am assuming that is the bacteria? and not my backwash)
joint health- Kombucha contains glucosamine which can help with arthritus
immune boosting - kombucha is antioxidant rich! Great for energy and immune system.
Have you tried Kombucha? What do you think? Would you drink it even if it didn't have all these wonderful health benefits?
