Bride arms and a wedding dress to go with them.

24 Jul

As some of you know I got engaged this past Thanksgiving! Crazy enough… it just so happens to be my brothers best friend aka my camera man. EEEEK! I couldn’t be happier.

I have trained many brides, helping them get into tip top shape and feel their best for when they put on that wedding dress.  Most brides want to focus on back and arms, the two things most exposed in a dress.

Learn how to get great arms using just cans here…. And even if you are NOT getting married in the near future, screw it… I am sure you still want nice arms and back, right? DO this:

I might be a crazy bride… well I am… only when it comes to dress shopping. I have tired on so many dresses. People say you get that “tada” feeling when you try on the right dress… umm not me, at least not yet. I have tried on at least 70 dresses, all around NYC- Boston- and RI. I know, I know.

Funky sleeves

Sexy plunging neckline with low waist

Testing to see if I can dance!

I loved this cut. But did not want cap sleeves.

I even tried on non-wedding dresses to see if I liked the shape.

pretty beaded dress

cowl neck that I tried to make a V

goddess feel

FUN dress! I loved the feathers. But not wedding dress enough.

too tight, could not breathe

could not move my legs

I look SO excited

Happier! Jenny Packham dresses make me smile.

So after about 6 months of searching, and no luck, I finally decided to design my own dress. I started sketching and combining my favorite elements from all the different dresses I had tried on.

I took the back of one dress, the front of another (celebrity inspired), the material of another, and the cut of another and then added my own flair. This was so fun to do and a bit scary at the same time. I am by no means a dress or clothing designer, but I am confident the final dress will be perfect- with the help of the wonderful people who have guided me along the way.

This past weekend I went to NYC to start the making process of my dress. This is not a 1-2-3 step type thing. It takes a bit longer. But I am exited to keep you posted on this journey. XOXO

What type of wedding dress did you end up with? What kind of dress do you picture yourself in?
